People Are Talking: UMS Presents Apollo’s Fire at Hill Auditorium:
UMS continues to open windows, broadening my horizons… introducing me to performers whose work was unfamiliar to me, continuing to stretch my slowly growing appreciation for vocal performance. Thank you, again and again. Tonight is no different. Apollo’s Fire delivers Vivaldi and Handel with verve and Philippe Jaroussky touches your soul. Bravo!!!
People Are Talking: UMS Presents Emerson String Quartet at Rackham Auditorium:
You just never know what will happen at a UMS concert! As ever, the Emerson were so moving and superb. Such a gift to enjoy their music in person. While thanking a senior partner from RIS for sponsoring the event, got an invitation to a post concert reception. So many people I knew were there, met a number of new faces and shared Robert McDuffie stories with violist Larry Dutton! How’s that for the unexpected?
